Every
quilt I have ever made is in loving memory of my daughter, Shiketa
D. Walker. I lost my daughter six years ago, I did not know how to
cope with my loss, but with the help of the LORD and his love and
mercy, I began to take it one moment at a time. I did not know a
thing about quilting, but the LORD gave me insight and guided me
through every stitch.
The gift
GOD has given me, I pass it on to others who have lost loved ones
and to families who just want to give flowers to their loved ones
while they are still here. Quilting will never compensate for my
loss. The pain is everlasting, but I filled the void by making Shiketa's Comfort and Joy Quilts for others. When I start on a
quilting project and complete it, the joyful look on that person's
face is great.
