LEARN TO SEW
Pillow Cases:

Materials:
  • 6 pack of diapers
  • 2-2 ½” Strips
  • 3-3 ½” Strips
  • Bag of piping
Assembly:
  • Take one diaper appliqué or embroidery pattern or wording, Take 2-2 ½” strips, sew together.  Fold piping into the strips as you sew with s zipper foot.  Attach piping to top edge of diaper and sew in place. 
  • Place back diaper on top of the diaper with piping already sew into place, stitch around the three sides of  diapers and piping, lock top corners with a few back stitches. 
  • Sew 2-3 ½” strips together, apply around top edge of pillow case opening, make a hem over the inter-seam of the pillow case to complete.

Shoulder Bids:

Materials:
  • Diapers
 
  • Appliqué or embroidery any child’s favorite character to the center of diapers and add embroidery stitching around the diaper to complete the bibs.

 


Quilt Bag:

Material:
  • Brown dot fabric
  • Pink fabric
  • Pink Ribbon
  • Pink Paisley
  • Bag of Piping
Cutting:
  • 21 ½” x 23” Brown dot fabric
  • 1-10 ½” Pink fabric for pocket
  • 2” yards of pink ribbon
  • 2 ½” Pink Paisley
Assembly:
  • Lay out 1- 21 ½”x23” brown dot fabric for top, take1-10 ½” square of pink fabric, finger press ends, sew a base seam around all four corners.  Fold a 2” seam on top and sew ends to lock the fold.  Place pocket onto the center of 21 ½” x23” front fabrics.  Measure the center by folding the 21 ½”x23” into two fold.  Place a safety pin to the center of fold to mark your center.  Follow the same step with the pocket, allow the safety pins to meet, unfold the fabrics and pin in place to sew.  When sewing the pocket in place, do a few back stitches to lock pocket in place at open edges of pocket.
  • Take 2-2 ½” pink paisley strips and sew together, fold strips in half and place piping in fold, sew piping into fabric strips close to piping with a zipper foot, tuck piping in fold as you sew.  Attach sewn piping to front edge of bag, lock in corners with few back stitches.  Attach back fabric to front bag sewing around and locking in corners.
  • Make two large button holes, one in front center and back center of bag.  Open the button hole, with seam ripper, make a 3 ½” fold inside of the bag, ½” larger than the button holes, sew the seams in place, lock in with a few back stitches on top ends.  Take two safety pins and attach to each ribbons and draw ribbon through the 2 ½” fold through button holes.  Pull out at each end and tie ends together into knots, to secure ribbons in bag.

Bag is complete.
